Warp & Weft

I have almost 20 years' experience as a live interpreter working widely in the heritage and education industries. I have developed extensive practical needlework and culinary skills to offer demonstrations tailored to Key Stages and to each historical period that I cover.

While I provide an interactive presentation for all ages I specialise particularly in hands on activities and workshops for (even the smallest) children. I hold a CACHE Level 2 in Play Work.

My recent bookings include work commissioned for The National Heritage Lottery Fund, Luton Museums Service, Cotesbach Village Trust and The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and last year saw me work on projects for Colchester Castle, Lincolnshire County Council and a Homefront cookery podcast for schools.

In addition to my solo demonstrations I also work together with a colleague, Kay Rouse, to offer a series of character based performance from the Clothes Maketh the Woman to Two Women Whinging on the Home Front. 2009 now brings the militant suffragettes to our repertoire.
